PURPOSE To report the surgical outcomes in four cases with optic disc pit associated maculopathy, treated with vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling, autologous platelets concentrate injection and gas tamponade. METHODS Pars plana vitrectomy, induction of posterior vitreous detachment (PVD), ILM peeling, autologous platelets concentrate injection and gas tamponade were performed. Anatomic outcome and visual acuity (VA) were retrospectively analyzed for all eyes. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) was used to observe anatomic changes in the macula in all eyes. RESULTS Complete resolution of intraretinal and subretinal fluid was observed in all patients. All patients had VA improvement of 2 or more lines postoperatively. The mean follow-up period was 12±3 months. No recurrences were observed. CONCLUSIONS Vitrectomy with ILM peeling, autologous platelets concentrate injection and gas tamponade got favorable anatomic and visual outcomes for the optic disc pit maculopathy. |
